Hello,

I am Martha (1988)  a self-taught visual artist and printmaker my practice spans photogravure, relief print, and alternative processes—such as solargraphy and chlorophyll printing—that directly incorporate nature into the art-making process.

Born in Germany, I now live by the Scottish seaside near Edinburgh. My creative practice is driven by my insatiable curiosity, exploring nature’s untamed force and the enticing potential of the abandoned. My intimate connection to the ocean is a recurring motif in my work.

My art has been exhibited internationally, with shows in the UK, Germany, the US, Canada, and Japan, including Woolwich Contemprorary Printfair. In 2024, I expanded my  practice during the Mi-Lab Mokuhanga residency in Japan, and in 2025, I was awarded a Visual Artists and Craft Maker Award. I am also an active member of the Society of Scottish Artists and Edinburgh Printmakers.
